History of the Airport
The Beaumont Municipal Airport has a rich history dating back to the Great Depression when it was constructed as a Works Progress Administration Project (WPA). It was officially activated on October 1, 1937. During World War II, the Army Air Corps utilized the field as a base for antisubmarine patrols. Commercial service was provided by Trans-Texas Airways and Delta Airlines until 1946 when the Jefferson County Airport was opened. Since then, the City of Beaumont has operated Beaumont Municipal Airport as a general aviation facility. In the late 1970s, the original terminal building was replaced with a new one, and various improvements have been made to the airfield and terminal area over the years.

Parking & Access
The airport offers convenient access with two public entrance roads connecting to the terminal building parking lot, creating a loop entrance/exit. There are 31 automobile parking spaces, totaling 11,200 square feet, including four designated for handicapped usage. The northern terminal entrance road provides access to fuel deliveries and the north large box hanger and apron area through a security gate. The south terminal entrance road offers direct access to the south portion of the aircraft parking apron, T-hangers, and the airfield through a security gate. Lighting is provided by four dusk-dawn lights in the terminal area parking lot and on the two main entrance roads.
In addition to the primary entrance and access points, there are four additional vehicle ground access locations along Keith Road on the east side of the airport, primarily used by tenants and airport personnel. Two of these locations grant immediate access to the T-hanger area, one provides access to the north area, and the fourth provides access to the southern area of the airport property.
Aviation Fuel Storage
Beaumont Municipal Airport is well-equipped with two above-ground fuel storage tanks located northeast of the terminal building, across from the large FBO (Fixed Base Operator) box hanger. These tanks have a capacity of 10,000 gallons each, with one storing 100LL and the other Jet-A fuel. Fuel dispensing is available through a 24-hour credit card pump system, primarily for 100LL fuel (Octane Low Lead Fuel). The dispensing location is situated on the apron between the terminal building and the FBO box hanger. In case of power loss, the fueling system and pumps can switch to a generator for continued fueling operations.
Jet-A fueling is conducted from a designated fuel truck on the aircraft parking apron or in an area specified by the FBO. The Jet-A fuel truck boasts a tank capacity of 3,000 gallons. Additionally, a 100LL fuel truck is on hand for aircraft refueling on the apron or for based aircraft, with a tank capacity of 1,000 gallons.
Beaumont Municipal Airport is fully equipped to meet the needs of general aviation enthusiasts and is committed to providing excellent services to all visitors and tenants.
